On October 9,2010, one of the most special moment’s of my life was when my dad and I went to Hayward for the youth hunt.
I had to wake up at 5:00pm, and had to get ready. At that time I was very tired. When we got there, it was still dark. But we walked any way. We heard woodcocks flying every, where it scared me a little bit, but I was brave. It was very quiet and kind of weird. Finally got to the stand. We saw two does. We set up and waited. At 11:00 Grandpa Heller walked to try and scare a deer our way, and he did. A perfect sized doe ran by. I tried to shoot it, but I didn’t get it in the scope. I saw nothing after that so I wanted to leave. And we did. On the way back to the truck we saw wolf tracks. They looked at them for a long time and all I wanted to do was get to the truck.
I had a blast even though I didn’t get a deer. I hope you can do the same too.
